THE GREENWOODS FOUNDATION CIC
We help people connect with nature for better mental health, reduced isolation, and increased community belonging.

We collaborate with Social Prescribers, GPs, and community services to reach those most in need.

Projects
Nature isn’t a luxury, it’s a fundamental human need just like food and water. Unfortunately, many people can’t access it. That’s where we come in.
Green walks

Free and accessible walks around Gloucestershire’s local green spaces. The programme benefits adults and young people struggling with mental health challenges, facing loneliness, and those from disadvantage backgrounds. Most participants are referred by social prescribers, friends and family members, and mental health services.
Green futures

Bushcraft sessions in school grounds, local woodlands, and green spaces for adults and children. Informed by Scandinavia, we help develop emotional regulation, resilience, self-esteem, and social connection.
Volunteer pathway
We have worked hard to develop a 4-part framework which offers mentoring, training and a lot of support. It takes people from having no experience to becoming a full walks leader. People gain many skills that are sought after in the world, such as leadership, punctuality, public speaking and problem solving.
